Would The Mason-Dixon Line Be Alberta?
*** continued from previous post ***
Now came the personal stories. The 'friend of a friend of a friend' urban legends. Oh it was glorious! Half-truths. Rumor. Speculation. Outright lies. It had all the elements for the fermentation of a barely contained civil war.
With the exception that while civil war was a definite possibility it was unanimously concurred that it wouldn't be much of a fight, because, once again, we were dealing with the French.
Just as things were winding down, Leeza come into the room and announced, "Everyone? We have about 15 minutes until Randy starts his talk in the Library. You're welcome to bring your drinks along. I think you're really going to enjoy what he has to say."
Here she paused and looked at Eric and Leah. "Plus, he has some practical advice for wildlife encounters."
Eric and Leah looked at each other for a moment. Nothing was said, no change of facial expression, but I could tell exactly what communication had transpired twixt the two. They had better things to do with their time than sit and listen to some idiot talk about bears. They were content with their wildlife knowledge, and didn't need some fear-mongering khaki-clad interloper passing judgment on them.
Me? Oh, I couldn't wait. I still held out hope that there would be some paranormal overtones.
Plus, I had questions.
Lots and lots of questions.
