No, that's not quite right. This trip seemed like a GREAT idea.
Protip: Pay particular attention to the word "seemed". Funny word that. All kinds of interesting connotations.

I am enjoying this blog. My wife and I also have an 08 Vision (Black) and we travel all over east coast with it. Want to go farther but work gets in the way. I pull a Uni-Go one wheel trailer with the Vision for long trips to extend our range a little.
Thanks Ed! I love my Vision. Keep reading, you should enjoy my impending idiocy quite a bit. :)
Hey, my wife and I live in Gig Harbor. Just got back last night from a trip to the ol' fambly reunion. Towed the midnight cherry '08 Vision on a 5X10' tilt bed trailer behind the motorhome 'cause we saw too many "Where was the remote last night, and just how many critters live in this motel anyway?" TV shows.
Stopped in Canyonville at the 7 Feathers resort on I-5 and rode from there up to Crater Lake. It was an awsome 215 mile round trip, 85 or so degree weather, until we got to the gate of the park, and then the last 7 miles were rain, M&M sized hail, thunder and lightning. It was so bad I had to put the windshield up! The wife turned on her seat, too, and, wuss that I've become, I admit I turned on the grips-but only on low!
It was just like going up Mount Doom with Sauron making weapons on the other side with all his Orcs and stuff. Lightning bolts all around. We don't have that stuff in the Puget Sound region. It was fascinating. We got to the top, left our helmets on because, well, it was raining, had some people take our pictures, took a few of our own, turned and looked at the lake, nodded our heads like Chevy Chase in "Family Vacation," and headed back down the hill.
Ten miles later it was 85 again and within 25 we were all dry and happy. Scenic mountain roads and a great handling sled make for contented travelers.
so enjoy your trip, after all, what can happen?

@ Gig Harbor Guy - Sir, you have no idea how large of an idiot I really am. :) Stay tuned, and keep having adventures of your own. It's just way to easy to have fun on this bike.
@Vinner - She's so hot I don't need the heated seats. ;)
Thanks Sommelier. Ride safe and have fun.
David...you are getting quite the following on our blog site...many of us are grinning ear to ear with each chapter...can't wait to hear how the match of badminton fairs at your first rest stop!
Vinner - that rocks! Thanks for the kind words. Just out of curiosity, to which blog site are you referring? Like the good little blog-monkey I am, I'm always looking to boost traffic.
